4 Simple Steps to Glowing Skin

We at Alaska Glacial are skinimalists (skin minimalists) who would rather be climbing mountains than fussing in the bathroom, so a simple skin care regimen is much easier, not to mention less confusing for our skin.

Our Day Glow Night Magic Skin Kit name was inspired by the glow and magic of Alaskan northern lights. The kit contains five products (CLEANSER, TONER, SERUM, CREAM and a 1x weekly mask) designed to help you achieve and maintain radiant glowing skin! The only thing between you and glowing skin is 4 SIMPLE STEPS.

Anti-aging is all about HYDRATION, HYDRATION, HYDRATION

Proper hydration helps your skin create a strong protection barrier, translating into healthy, balanced, dewier-looking skin. Cold temps, dry indoors and sun exposure leaves our skin feeling dry. Waking up with already dehydrated skin is only exacerbated by dehydration, traveling, changing climate and caffeine consumption. Dehydrated skin, regardless of skin type, can show up as tightness, inflammation and irritation.

Dehydration has to do with the skins ability to retain water, while dry skin is a type of skin that does not produce enough oil.  Dehydration can affect all skin types, not just those with chronically dry skin.  Drinking water is paramount for healthy body function and skin wellness, but dehydrated skin can benefit quickly and directly from a good topical moisturizer.

Products formulated with hyaluronic acid act as an amazing humectant since HA is able to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. This helps to draw moisture into the skin leaving you with a dewy, glowing complexion.  All of the products in our Glacier Collection contain hyaluronic acid, including our Alpenglow Youth Serum which contains five different types of HA.

Alpenglow Youth Serum - hyaluronic gel serum with dropper

  • sodium hyaluronate
  • sodium hyaluronate crosspolymer
  • hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans
  • hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid
  • hyaluronic acid
You’re best defense is proper hydration each night in four multi-benefit, multi-tasking essentials to maintain optimal skin health – in fewer steps. To improve dehydrated skin and maintain a skin wellness routine, we recommend starting each night with a cleanser to remove impurities, followed by a toner to balance pH, a serum to nourish skin (think vitamin) and an extra optional moisturizer. Make sure you apply a serum/ moisturizer to damp skin for best absorption.

We recommend Alaska Glacial Essential’s hydrating Micellar Glacier Water Deep Pore Cleanser to remove impurities followed by our illuminating Hyaluronic + Niacinamide Glow Toner to balance pH. This prepares skin to absorb hydration and nourishment from the alpenglow Resveratrol + Hyaluronic Youth Serum which helps brighten, smooth, and hydrate your skin. Most find this is ample hydration, but for seasonal dryness, aging skin or those with chronic dry skin, we recommend an additional layer with our Protect&Defend Squalane + Hyaluronic Restore Cream for extra overnight protection.  The serum and the cream may also be used interchangeably as a final hydrating step.

In the morning, cleanse, tone and moisturize again with the serum or cream, whichever you find to be the best for your skin. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen to protect against harmful UV damage.

All Alaska Glacial Essential’s products are designed with hydration in mind – to heal, protect and defend your skin leaving it cleansed, toned, nourished and moisturized for your next adventure.
